City Commission
Overview
The form of government of the City of Fernandina Beach is known as the "Commission-Manager Plan." Under this plan, the Commission has powers to pass ordinances, adopt regulations and appoint the City AttorneyCity Clerk and the City Manager.

The Fernandina Beach City Commission consists of five (5) citizens who are elected at large, including the Mayor who presides at all meetings of the Commission.

The Fernandina Beach City Commission and members of the Board of Nassau County Commissioners make up the Joint Local Planning Agency. Click here to view all of the members.

Regular Meetings
The City of Fernandina Beach City Commission meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month, at 6:00 pm. Agendas for regularly scheduled meetings are available the preceding Friday in the Document Center

Anyone wishing to speak at a City Commission meeting is required to complete a "Request to Speak" form provided at the meetings and deliver it to the City Clerk.
