Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment (BOA) was established for the purpose of hearing and deciding on appeals of administrative decisions and hearing and deciding on applications for variances within City limits. Variance cases in the historic districts or the Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) are heard by the Historic District Council.
The BOA conducts public hearings and renders decisions in compliance with the requirements of the City's Land Development Code (LDC) on the following matters:

The BOA conducts public hearings and renders decisions in compliance with the requirements of the City's Land Development Code (LDC) on the following matters:
- To hear and decide appeals where it is alleged there is an error in any order, interpretation, requirement, decision, or determination made by an administrative official in the enforcement of this LDC (See Section 11.07.00 for procedures regarding appeals); and
- To authorize a variance from a provision of the LDC, as set forth in Chapter 10.

Any email sent to quasi-judicial board members or City staff that is intended to be made part of the official record of any quasi-judicial hearing must be submitted in person by the author of such email at the applicable hearing or that email must be disregarded and cannot be made part of the official record of any quasi-judicial hearing.
