Sports Facilities

The Parks & Recreation Department offers the following facilities as sports/fitness venues:

Buccaneer Fields

Located at 1201 Beech Street, this complex has a lighted football/baseball field; 3 additional lighted baseball fields with covered dugouts; 3 batting cages; 2 concessions buildings with restrooms; a pavilion; and a football restrooms building (only open during youth sports league activities).  These fields are the homes of Fernandina Beach Football Association and Fernandina Beach Babe Ruth League. 

Central Park 

Located at 1200 Atlantic Avenue, this site has an open field for recreation and also offers 4 lighted tennis courts, 6 lighted pickleball courts, petanque courts, and restrooms.

Charles Albert Field

Located at 1200 Elm Street, this is a lighted softball/baseball game field with covered dugouts.  A concessions building, restrooms, 3 pavilions, a batting cage, and a covered playground are adjacent to the field.  It is the home of Elm Street Little League Girls' Fastpitch Softball.  

Egans Creek Park

Located at 2201 Atlantic Avenue next to Egans Creek, this area has a paved fitness trail, 13 pieces of outdoor fitness equipment, a pavilion, a kayak launch, and restrooms.

Ybor Alvarez Athletic Complex

Located at 3243 Bailey Road, this complex has 3 lighted adult softball fields (Ybor Alvarez Softball Fields) with covered dugouts; 1 baseball/softball practice field; a softball restrooms building (only open during adult sports league activities); open space for soccer fields (2 adult-sized areas are lighted); a soccer rebound wall; and a soccer concessions building with restrooms (only open during youth sports league activities). It is the home of the Amelia Island Youth Soccer Club. 

Fernandina Beach Skate Park

Located at 25 Tarpon Avenue, this park has a variety of ramps and obstacles for skateboarders and inline skaters.  The park is open to the public (skate at your own risk).  Restrooms are adjacent to the park at Main Beach Park. 

Hickory Street Park

Located at 1700 Hickory Street, across from the Fernandina Beach High School baseball and softball fields, this area has 2 baseball/softball practice fields and a multi-purpose field (soccer, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, etc.) with 4 soccer goals.  No restrooms or field lights.  

Joe Velardi Field

Located behind the Atlantic Recreation Center, at 2500 Atlantic Avenue, this is a youth softball/baseball field with covered dugouts.  Restrooms are adjacent to the fields, near the entrance to the Egans Creek Greenway. 

Main Beach Multi-Purpose Court

Located on Tarpon Avenue, across from the Fernandina Beach Skate Park, this area has 4 basketball goals, and the court's surface is also marked for inline hockey.  Restrooms are adjacent to the park at Main Beach Park.

Main Beach Volleyball Courts

Located at 32 North Fletcher Avenue, at Main Beach, these are 2 sand volleyball courts on the beach.  Restrooms are adjacent to the beach at Main Beach Park.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Field

Located at 1200 Elm Street, this is a baseball/softball practice field.  Restrooms are adjacent to the field at MLK, Jr. Park.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Outdoor Basketball Court 

Located behind the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, at 1200 Elm Street.  Lighted.  Restrooms are adjacent to the court at MLK, Jr. Park.

Charles Eugene Richo Field

Located at 516 South 10th Street, adjacent to the Peck Center, this area has a baseball/softball practice field, open space for recreation, 2 soccer goals, and a pavilion.  Restrooms are adjacent to the field at the Peck Center (open during normal business hours Monday-Friday).  

Peck Gym

Located at 510 South 10th Street (phone #: 904-310-3354), this facility has a Weight Room, Cardio Area, and a basketball court (6 goals) with volleyball post ground sleeves that can be converted into 2 volleyball courts.  NOTE: All patrons must present picture identification. Patrons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult of the age of 18 or older to enter Peck Gym.
